Who Isn’t Playing the Blame Game, He Puts On a
Good Act
BATON ROUGE – Piyush “Bobby” Jindal keeps saying he won’t play the political blame game in his run for governor. But then, being forthright about his intentions isn’t in Jindal’s playbook.
In a memo last week to his supporters, Jindal blasts Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco for a laundry list of sins; topping the list is her performance during both Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and her efforts in the Louisiana Road Home Program.
He blames her “mismanagement” for the low number of families that have received funds, stating it is “due to fraud and waste in the recovery process.” He continues, “The list of government waste in the response and recovery after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, at all levels, reads like a rap sheet; an estimated $2 billion lost to fraud and waste, including $200 champagne, months at a Hawaiian resort and five season tickets to NFL football games… It is inexcusable.”

“The fact that Jindal is blaming Gov. Blanco for the FEMA debit card debacle shows that he is a politician instead of a congressman speaking the truth,” said Chris Whittington, Chairman of the Louisiana Democratic Party.
“If Jindal is really the Whiz Kid of Washington and has the president’s ear, why doesn’t he use some of that clout to get the Bush Administration to fix FEMA,” Whittington said.
