Whittington Statement on Veterans Day

Louisiana Democratic Party Chair Chris Whittington issued the following statement in recognition of Veterans Day:

"As we come together all over Louisiana to commemorate Veterans Day, I am humbled by the commitment of our nation's veterans and honored by their sacrifices. All that our nation has accomplished, and all those successes that lie ahead, are possible only because a brave group of Americans have defended the principles we hold dear. We call them veterans, but they are our national heroes.
 
"We owe it to each and every American veteran to make sure they are taken care of once their service is over. I'm proud that President Obama has presided over the biggest increase in funding for the Veterans Administration in the last 30 years, but there is still much more to be done to make sure veterans get the health care and educational opportunities they have earned."
