HOW MANY DEBATES WILL BOBBY MISS?

Jindal Runs From Opportunities to Debate Opponents

BATON ROUGE - Bobby Jindal has missed four gubernatorial forums to date and won’t be showing up to a fifth set for Monday, Aug. 20, hosted by the International Association of Drilling Contractors in Lafayette. Rather than campaigning as an open and forthcoming candidate, Bobby cowardly runs away from questions.

The forums Bobby missed were:

Crime Fighters and the Louisiana Crime Victims Alliance – May 12 -Covington

Louisiana Chemical Association (Jindal submitted a video) – May 23 – Baton Rouge

Louisiana Municipal Association – Aug. 4 - Monroe

Every Child Matters – Aug. 13 - Lafayette

During the 2003 race for governor, Bobby willingly participated in not less than six candidate debates/forums – some televised statewide direct into the living rooms of voters across Louisiana. Four years ago, Bobby seemed more than willing to take questions on his limited experience and lengthy yet thin resume.

Now that Bobby has a mere 2 ½ years of Congressional experience under his belt – his longest stint at any one job yet - he runs scared from pointed questions, contentious issues and probing inquiries about his voting record in Washington.

The question from voters should be WHY? If Bobby is proud of his record, excited about his plans for the state and confident of his leadership skills, why doesn’t he stack all of this experience toe to toe with the other candidates and allow the voters to judge for themselves?

“Bobby is campaigning as if he has a lock on this election. His stops around the state are nothing more than tightly coordinated photo ops delivering his canned messages to a staged crowd. Bobby believes that the slick delivery of a vaporous message is the key to win this election,” said Louisiana Democratic Party Chairman Chris Whittington.

“Bobby’s platform for the state is nothing more than smoke and mirrors. When the smoke clears, Bobby is left standing with nothing to offer the people of Louisiana but empty promises,” Whittington said.
