Executive Director
The Executive Director will build and maintain relationships with elected Democratic officials, national and local party organizations, constituency groups and allied organizations. He/She will execute and organize training for candidates, party members and activists. He/She will assist with candidate recruitment and voter registration and education. He/She will organize and oversee the National Convention delegate selection process.
The Executive Director will develop, manage and oversee all state party operations including, but not limited to:
Manage Party Headquarters Staff
Administer and staff State and National Conventions
Coordinate Volunteers
Administer Information Technology systems
Coordinate Voter File
Track Budget
Pay and account for bills
File Federal and State Election Committee Reports
Maintain internal and external databases
The Executive Director (along with the Chairman and other officials) will serve as a liaison to the following:
National Committee for an Effective Congress (NCEC)
Democratic Elected Officials
Association of State Democratic Chairs (ASDC)
Democratic National Committee (DNC)
Federal, Statewide and Local Candidates
Coordinated Campaign
Vendors
Parish Executive Committees (PEC’s)
Caucus and Auxiliary Groups
Qualifications:
Experience in fundraising and budgeting required. This position requires excellent supervisory and personnel management skills. The individual must be organized, responsible and be able to work under pressure in a challenging political environment. Excellent computer skills are also required. A commitment to the goals and ideals of the Democratic Party is a prerequisite.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
